23 April - National Sovereignty and Children's Day


April 23 is one of the national holidays of Turkey and also the globally celebrated Day of National Sovereignty and the Day of the Child. On this day in 1920, the Turkish Parliament was opened, marking the beginning of Turkey's struggle for independence.

April 23 is an expression of Turkish belief in freedom, independence and democracy. Mustafa Kemal Atatürk declared this day as Turkish Youth Day and it is celebrated around the world to highlight children's rights.

April 23rd is an occasion to celebrate the achievements of Turkish youth in education, science and culture. Children participate in various activities to understand the meaning and importance of this day and to express their hope that they will contribute to building the future of Turkey.

April 23rd is a source of pride and honor for the Turkish people and at the same time a symbol of peace, freedom and brotherhood around the world.
